# Cincinnati Web Design, Website Development and SEO

Plus AI search and Google Ads for Ohio and Northern Kentucky

Kihan Marketing is a digital marketing agency. Greater Cincinnati businesses in Ohio and Northern Kentucky can hire us for SEO, web design and development, AI search and local SEO. We also run Google and Meta Ads and social media, with med spas and healthcare practices as a specialty.

Greater Cincinnati sits on both banks of the Ohio River, with townships such as West Chester to the north and Kentucky cities such as Florence to the south. We help people searching on either bank reach you through Google and AI answers, working remotely in accounts you own.

## SEO services for Cincinnati businesses

[SEO](https://kihanmarketing.com/services/seo/) for a Cincinnati business comes down to pages: one for each service you offer and one for each place you serve, supported by technical SEO, schema markup, content and link building.

Many suburbs here are Ohio townships, not cities: West Chester, Liberty and Anderson among them. Nearly half the metro’s residents live outside any city or village. And Google’s first suggestion for “med spa west chester” is West Chester, Pennsylvania. So a West Chester page says Butler County, Ohio, in its title and its text.

- Technical SEO and site audits
- Schema markup
- Content that answers real questions
- Link building
- Pages for each community you serve
- Search Console set up in your name

## Website design and development in Cincinnati

We design and build [websites](https://kihanmarketing.com/services/web-development/) on WordPress, Next.js or custom code, and take on redesigns, speed work and maintenance. When a business serves Ohio and Northern Kentucky, we plan the site with room for pages on each side and for the rules that differ between them.

Our [ADA compliance](https://kihanmarketing.com/services/web-development/#ada-compliance) work covers sites we built and sites we did not. We test each one against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We repair the failures, such as low contrast, missing image descriptions and unlabeled form fields, then retest them with a keyboard and a screen reader. It is technical work, not legal advice, and no overlay widget is involved.

- New websites and redesigns
- WordPress development
- Next.js, React and custom code
- ADA compliance (WCAG 2.2 AA)
- Speed work and maintenance

## AI search, ads, local and social in Cincinnati

### AI search

We work to get your business named in Google’s AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity. Some call it answer engine optimization (AEO), others generative engine optimization (GEO).

Google’s guidance for its AI features asks for nothing beyond a page it can index and show with a snippet, and it lists an up-to-date Business Profile among good practices. So we answer questions like these on the page, in a line or two. Does your crew cross the river into Northern Kentucky? Who registers my Cincinnati rental with the City, you or me? Who performs the laser treatments at your Kentucky clinic?

### Google and Meta Ads

We run pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns on [Google Ads](https://kihanmarketing.com/services/paid-ads/), and paid social on Facebook and Instagram. We can build TikTok and LinkedIn campaigns when they fit.

Since 2020, Warren County has gained nearly twice as many residents as Hamilton County, though Hamilton is more than three times its size. Boone County, across the river, has grown faster still in percentage terms. So growing counties get campaigns of their own instead of one radius drawn around downtown. Google’s standard location option also counts searchers elsewhere who merely look a county up. We narrow a local service’s campaigns to people who are there or regularly there.

### Local SEO

We handle [local SEO](https://kihanmarketing.com/services/local-seo/) and the Google Business Profile itself: categories, services, hours, photos and a weekly review process.

An address in Covington that only receives mail is not eligible for a Business Profile. A Cincinnati company that also works in Florence or Fort Thomas adds them as service areas instead. Google caps that list at 20, and neither town goes in the business name.

Of the flood crests in the Weather Service’s record for the Ohio River at Cincinnati, more than eight in ten came between January and April. At flood stage, stretches of Kellogg Avenue and parts of Humbert Avenue in the East End go under water. When high water closes the doors for six days or fewer, special hours tell customers. From the seventh day, Google asks for the profile to be marked temporarily closed.

### Social media

We plan [social media](https://kihanmarketing.com/services/social-media/) around the Cincinnati calendar. The Findlay Market parade marks the Reds’ Opening Day, the Flying Pig Marathon comes at the start of May, and Oktoberfest Zinzinnati is held on the riverfront in September.

Some dates belong to both banks. Newport’s police billed the 2026 riverfront fireworks as a Tri-State celebration run in partnership with Cincinnati and Covington, so one post could speak to followers in Ohio and Kentucky alike.

Our [brand design](https://kihanmarketing.com/services/brand-design/) service gives your posts, profile and website one look, from the logo and brand guidelines to each post graphic.

## How Greater Cincinnati splits local search

Local search in Greater Cincinnati splits at the Ohio River and the state lines, then again between counties built in opposite ways. Fifteen counties in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana make up the Census Bureau’s metro, and Hamilton County borders eight of them.

1. **Two banks, three states.** Covington, Newport and Florence are Kentucky cities south of the Ohio River, and Lawrenceburg is in Indiana. Interstate 275 runs about 81 miles through all three states. Licensing, landlord and advertising rules change at the water, so pages, profiles and ads are planned for each side.
2. **Next-door counties, built in opposite ways.** In Kenton County fewer than one resident in ten lives outside a city. Next door, Boone County has three cities, and about two thirds of its residents live outside them, in places such as Burlington and Hebron. Targeting by city name works in Kenton and misses most of Boone.
3. **One name, several places.** Hamilton is a city in Butler County, a township in Warren County and a county that contains neither. There are Union Townships in Clermont, Warren and Brown counties, and a city of Union in Boone County, Kentucky. Dayton can mean a small city in Campbell County, Kentucky. A page that names its county and state tells Google and the reader which one it means.

### Greater Cincinnati in numbers

- **2.31M** people in the Cincinnati metro across Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, by 2025 Census estimate
- **1 in 5** metro residents live in Kentucky, south of the Ohio River
- **90%** of Clermont County residents live outside any city or village
- **60.9 ft** the Ohio River’s crest at Cincinnati in April 2025, its highest since 1997

## Med spa, roofing, rental and brokerage rules on both banks

The rules for these four trades change at the river. On the Ohio side, Ohio’s rules apply, and inside the city limits so does the Cincinnati Municipal Code. On the Kentucky side, Kentucky’s rules apply, along with city ordinances such as Covington’s. We write each page and ad to the rules of the side it serves.

### Med spa and healthcare SEO

On each bank of the river, the SEO, Google Ads and booking pages we make for Cincinnati med spas follow that state’s nursing board.

The two states’ nursing boards set out different expectations. Ohio’s board looks for a medical evaluation and a provider’s order before a nurse injects. It also warns that a salon or a private home may not be a fit setting for the work.

Kentucky’s board, in an advisory opinion, says a registered nurse may perform cosmetic procedures under a qualified provider’s supervision. The provider first assesses the patient and sets a treatment plan. The opinion names procedures a nurse may only assist with, ablative laser and liposuction among them. So a practice with a clinic on each bank gets two sets of treatment pages, each written to its own state’s board.

- Ohio guidance: Board of Nursing, cosmetic injectables
- Kentucky guidance: Board of Nursing, AOS #35
- Services: Med spa SEO, Google Ads, booking pages

### Roofing

Roofers on either bank get roofing SEO, storm pages and Google Ads from us, written to Cincinnati’s contract rules or Kentucky’s claim rules. On April 9, 1999, a tornado reached F4 strength over Blue Ash and Symmes Township and destroyed more than 100 homes. In May 2024 the National Weather Service confirmed five tornadoes in Warren County alone, around Lebanon, South Lebanon and Morrow. A roofer serving those suburbs needs storm and replacement pages live before spring.

Inside the City of Cincinnati, a written home improvement contract, a new roof included, can be canceled for three business days after signing, up to midnight on the third. The right covers homes for up to three families, wherever the contract was signed. Until then the contractor may not deliver materials or start work, except for emergency repairs. The contract must also cap the down payment at ten percent of the price, plus special-order materials.

In Kentucky, a contractor may not advertise that it will represent or negotiate on a homeowner’s behalf on an insurance claim. Since July 15, 2026, it also may not market itself as a claims or insurance specialist. Nor may it offer to pay or rebate the deductible on insurance-paid work. These rules cover work on Kentucky property, tree and debris removal included. So Northern Kentucky roofing ads leave out any line about handling the claim or covering the deductible.

- Cincinnati rule: Municipal Code Chapter 891
- Kentucky rule: KRS 367.628
- Services: Roofing SEO, storm pages, Google Ads

### Property management

For property managers working both sides of the river, we build websites with owner and listing pages that follow Cincinnati’s rental registration and Covington’s licensing. Since September 1, 2020, rentals in the City of Cincinnati have had to be registered with the City, in addition to the Hamilton County Auditor registration Ohio law requires. The filing names someone who can be reached 24 hours a day, and at least one person in control must live within 100 miles. A manager’s pages for out-of-town owners can offer to be that contact.

In Cincinnati, a landlord with more than 25 units who takes a deposit must offer at least one alternative when a tenant asks. The options are deposit insurance, six or more monthly installments, or a deposit of no more than half a month’s rent. The landlord describes them in writing before the lease is signed, so a listing page can set them out too. Every Cincinnati landlord must also tell an applicant in writing, before signing, if the unit is served by a lead service line.

Across the river, every privately owned rental in Covington, single-family houses included, needs a city rental dwelling license, and a provisional license becomes a regular one after inspection. Covington has also adopted Kentucky’s uniform landlord-tenant act, which keeps deposits in a separate account and ties deductions to damage lists made at move-in and move-out.

- Cincinnati rules: Municipal Code Chapters 871 and 874
- Covington rule: Code Chapter 155, rental licensing
- Our build: Property manager’s website

### Real estate

For brokerages selling in Northern Kentucky, Kihan Marketing builds listing pages and posts that carry the registered name and license line Kentucky requires. Kentucky counts every web page and every social post as a separate ad. Each must show the brokerage’s full registered name, or the principal broker’s name marked as principal broker, in the header or where it can be read without scrolling. A page that cannot must carry a clear link to one that does, and a logo without the name written out does not count.

A brokerage whose main place of business is outside Kentucky, in Cincinnati for example, must also say in those ads that it holds a Kentucky license and name the jurisdiction it is based in. That line belongs in the template of every Northern Kentucky listing page and post.

Suburb and near-me pages carry the same lines, and paid ads bring buyers to them.

- Kentucky rule: 201 KAR 11:105, Sections 2 and 3
- Our client: Real estate agency, Sint Maarten
- Result: Clicks 1,545 to 2,478, July to September 2026 against 2025

## How to choose the best digital marketing agency in Cincinnati

Five questions for any agency that wants your SEO, website or ads, ours included. One that knows both sides of the river will answer with place names and rules, not a template.

1. **Ask who keeps the keys if you part ways.** Your domain, analytics, ad account and Business Profile should be in your business’s name from the start. Then changing agencies never means asking for your own accounts back.
2. **Ask a question from each bank.** Someone pitching roofers should know what Kentucky bars in an ad about insurance claims. Someone pitching landlords should know what the City of Cincinnati asks them to register.
3. **Ask where on the map they would start.** A useful answer picks a place, such as West Chester Township, Anderson Township or Florence, and says why it comes first. All of Greater Cincinnati at once is too wide a start.
4. **Ask how Kentucky fits into the ads.** Covington, Florence and Burlington sit in a different state from Cincinnati. Ask whether those places get separate campaigns and landing pages, and whether the ads reach people who are there or merely interested.
5. **Read the reviews, then the work behind them.** Look past the star average. Pick two or three reviews that describe a project, then open that business’s site or profile and see the work for yourself.

## Your Cincinnati questions, answered

### Do you have an office in Cincinnati?

No, not in Ohio or in Kentucky. We work remotely. Every account we touch is yours: the website, the Business Profile, Google Ads and Search Console. You can open any of them and see what we changed.

### Do you work in Northern Kentucky too?

Yes. Covington, Newport, Florence and other Northern Kentucky cities can have their own pages, sit in your Business Profile’s service areas and get Kentucky ads. Where Kentucky’s rules differ from Ohio’s, that copy follows Kentucky’s.

### Is ADA compliance work part of what you do in Cincinnati?

Yes. Our accessibility work measures the site against WCAG 2.2 at level AA and repairs what does not pass: contrast, image descriptions, headings, form labels, focus order and captions. Then we retest, first using only a keyboard and then with a screen reader. We add no overlay widgets. This is technical work, not legal advice, and no one can promise it will prevent a lawsuit.

### What are AEO and GEO?

Answer engine optimization (AEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO) describe the same goal: being the business ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google’s AI Overviews picks in an answer. Take a question such as which Cincinnati roofers also work in Boone County, Kentucky. A service page that says so in plain words gives the assistant something to quote.

### What does the City of Cincinnati’s rental registration ask for?

The owner or the person in control files it within 60 days of taking ownership. It lists the monthly rent, the number and size of the units, and contacts who can be reached at any hour. At least one of them must live within 100 miles of the property. Hotels, motels and rentals of 30 days or less are exempt. This is a summary, not legal advice.

### Can a Northern Kentucky roofer offer to handle the insurance claim?

No. Kentucky law bars a contractor from representing a homeowner on an insurance claim, negotiating it or advertising either, unless it is a licensed public adjuster. Since July 15, 2026, it also may not market itself as a claims or insurance specialist. It may give an estimate and, once a claim has been filed, talk with the insurer’s representative about the damage. It may not offer to pay or rebate the deductible. This is a summary, not legal advice.
