# Houston Web Design, Website Development and SEO

Plus AI search, Google Ads and local search from Katy to Baytown

Kihan Marketing is a digital marketing agency. We help businesses from Katy to Baytown get found on Google and named in AI answers. Our work covers SEO, web design and development, Google and Meta Ads, local search and social media, with a specialty in med spas and healthcare practices.

Your customers type Katy, Kingwood or The Woodlands into Google, not only Houston. We help your business show up for those searches and in AI answers, so they can book. We work remotely, in accounts you own.

## SEO services for Houston businesses

Our [SEO](https://kihanmarketing.com/services/seo/) work covers the technical fixes, schema markup, content and links that help Google read and trust a site. In Greater Houston, many searches name a community rather than the city. Atascocita and Cinco Ranch are unincorporated, yet people search for each by name. Each community you serve gets a page written about it.

- Technical SEO and site audits
- Schema markup
- Content that answers real questions
- Link building
- Pages for each community you serve
- Search Console set up in your name

## Website design and development in Houston

We design and build [websites](https://kihanmarketing.com/services/web-development/) on WordPress or Next.js, and custom code where a site needs it, choosing the platform by how much the site needs to grow. We handle redesigns, speed work and maintenance too.

Seyfarth Shaw counted 177 ADA Title III lawsuits in Texas federal courts in 2025. That count covers every kind of Title III claim, not only websites. For [ADA compliance](https://kihanmarketing.com/services/web-development/#ada-compliance), we check any site, ours or another builder’s, against WCAG 2.2 at level AA. We test with automated scans, a keyboard and a screen reader, then repair what does not pass. We never use overlay widgets, and the work is technical, not legal advice.

- New websites and redesigns
- WordPress development
- Next.js, React and custom code
- ADA compliance (WCAG 2.2 AA)
- Speed work and maintenance

## AI search, ads, local and social in Houston

### AI search

We work to get your business named in Google's AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity. That work is called answer engine optimization (AEO) or generative engine optimization (GEO).

Google says no special optimization is needed to appear in AI Overviews. A page must be indexed and eligible to show with a snippet, and Google also advises keeping Business Profile details current. So we give each Houston question a short, plain answer an assistant can repeat. Do you cover Pearland and League City? Has this rental flooded in the last five years? Which physician supervises the injections?

### Google and Meta Ads

We run pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns on [Google Ads](https://kihanmarketing.com/services/paid-ads/), and paid social on Facebook and Instagram. We can build TikTok and LinkedIn campaigns when they fit.

The City of Houston reaches into Fort Bend and Montgomery counties, yet it holds only about three in ten of the metro’s residents. An ad aimed at "Houston" alone misses most of the market. So the budget is split by county, and Harris, Fort Bend and Montgomery each run as a separate campaign. We also change a Google default that shows ads to anyone who has shown interest in an area. Ours reach people who are in it or regularly there.

### Local SEO

We manage [local SEO](https://kihanmarketing.com/services/local-seo/) and the Google Business Profile itself: categories, services, hours, photos and a weekly review process.

A company based in Pasadena that also works in Spring and Sienna cannot open profiles at addresses it does not staff. It lists those communities among its service areas, up to 20 of them. Storms test the profile too. After Hurricane Beryl in July 2024, the National Weather Service put peak power outages at around 2.7 million people. If the business shuts for up to six days, the profile gets special hours. Any longer, and it is marked temporarily closed.

### Social media

We plan [social media](https://kihanmarketing.com/services/social-media/) around the Houston year. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo runs from March 2 to March 21, 2027, opening on Texas Independence Day. Juneteenth, June 19, marks the day in 1865 when General Order No. 3 was read in Galveston. Hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, so storm and closure posts are drafted before it starts.

Our [brand design](https://kihanmarketing.com/services/brand-design/) work covers logos, identity, guidelines and the graphics for posts and ads, so your business looks the same on the site, the profile and every post.

## How Greater Houston splits local search

Local search in Greater Houston splits between cities and the large communities outside any city, and between suburbs that people still search by their own names. Harris County alone holds about 64 percent of the metro’s people. The map shades it along with Fort Bend, Montgomery and Brazoria.

1. **Much of the metro lives outside any city.** In Montgomery County, 79 percent of residents live outside city limits, and in Fort Bend 60 percent. The Woodlands, with about 121,000 people, is larger than the city of Sugar Land and is not a city at all. Most of its land lies in Montgomery County, the rest in Harris.
2. **Some suburbs are Houston on paper.** The City of Houston annexed Alief and the Clear Lake area in the 1970s and re-annexed Kingwood in 1995 and 1996. People still search for Kingwood by name, so a business there needs a Kingwood page, not only a Houston one.
3. **Separate cities, separate searches.** Pasadena and Baytown, east of Houston on the map, are cities of their own. Google ranks local results partly by distance to the searcher. So a Pasadena business can rank in Pasadena and still miss searches made in Baytown.

### Greater Houston in numbers

- **7.9M** people in the ten-county Houston-Pasadena-The Woodlands metro in 2025
- **2.18M** Harris County residents who live outside the limits of any city
- **57.9%** of occupied homes in the City of Houston are rented, against 23 percent in Fort Bend County
- **154,170** Harris County homes flooded in Hurricane Harvey in 2017, by the county’s estimate, more than two in three of them outside the 100-year floodplain

## Med spas, roofing, property management and real estate in Houston

Floods and storms shape three of these four industries in Houston. Texas law makes landlords and home sellers say what they know about floodplains, and windstorms drive the roofing calendar. Med spa physicians and the treatments they delegate answer to the Texas Medical Board.

### Med spa and healthcare SEO

Texas section 401.518 bars calling laser hair removal risk free, so our SEO, Google Ads and booking pages for Houston med spas never do.

At some med spas, staff work from a physician’s standing orders at a site that is not the physician’s primary practice. There, the Texas Medical Board treats it as misleading advertising if the physician does not disclose the medical directorship, supervision or delegation to non-physicians. So each treatment page names the supervising physician.

Texas certifies laser hair removal facilities through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. A facility’s operator may not claim that laser hair removal is free from risk or provides any medical benefit. So those claims stay off the service pages.

The Texas Medical Center reports 10 million patient encounters a year. People still search for a med spa in The Woodlands or Katy by name. A clinic there needs a page for its own community, not only one for Houston.

- Texas rule: Medical Board rule 164.3(b)(8)
- Also: Health and Safety Code 401.518
- Services: Med spa SEO, Google Ads, booking pages

### Roofing

Our roofing SEO, storm pages and Google Ads for Houston roofers are built for wind damage like the 2024 derecho, not only for hurricane season. Houston roof damage is not only a hurricane-season problem. On May 16, 2024, a derecho brought winds over 100 mph through the metro, and less than two months later Beryl’s gust at Hobby Airport reached 84 mph. Storm and repair pages should be live and indexed well before the next one.

Katy and Kingwood each draw roofing searches of their own. A roofer that works there needs a page for each community, with photos of finished roofs and proof of insurance.

- Second storm: Hurricane Beryl, July 8, 2024
- Storm on record: Derecho, May 16, 2024
- Services: Roofing SEO, storm pages, Google Ads

### Property management

Houston property managers get websites from us whose listings and resident FAQs explain the Texas floodplain notice, with ads that follow TREC’s rules. Texas landlords must tell tenants in writing whether they know the home is in a 100-year floodplain. If they know flooding damaged it in the past five years, they must say that too. If a landlord skips the notice and flooding causes a substantial loss to the tenant’s belongings, the tenant may end the lease. Listing pages and resident FAQs should explain the notice plainly.

Texas law treats handling the rent on someone else’s single-family rental, for pay, as broker work that needs a Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) license. On-site apartment managers are exempt, but apartment locators are not. So a single-family manager’s site and ads follow TREC’s advertising rules.

- Texas law: Property Code 92.0135
- Also: Occupations Code 1101.002
- Our build: Property manager’s website

### Real estate

We build listing feeds, buyer guides and neighborhood pages for Houston agents, clearing expired and sold homes on the schedule TREC’s advertising rule sets. Under TREC’s advertising rule, a listing ad still running more than 10 days after the listing agreement ends is misleading. So is an ad for a sold home 10 days or more after closing, unless it shows the current status. The rule covers websites and social media, so listing feeds and templates must clear expired and sold homes quickly. An ad that ranks the agent must also state the objective criteria behind the ranking.

The Texas seller’s disclosure notice asks about flood insurance, flooding from a reservoir release and whether the home is in a 100-year or 500-year floodplain. The City of Houston has no zoning, and its codes do not address land use. Buyer guides and neighborhood pages that explain both give buyers those answers before they call.

- Texas rule: TREC rule 535.155
- Our client: Real estate agency
- Result: Clicks 1,545 to 2,478, July to September 2026 against 2025

## How to choose the best digital marketing agency in Houston

Before you hire anyone for SEO, a website or ads, us included, ask these five questions. Good answers mention Kingwood, Fort Bend or a Texas statute, not just the word Houston.

1. **Ask who will hold the keys.** The domain, analytics, Business Profile and ad accounts should sit in your company’s name from day one, not the agency’s.
2. **Put a Texas rule to them.** A med spa agency should know what Texas bars a laser hair removal ad from claiming. A property management agency should know the flood notice Texas landlords owe tenants.
3. **Ask which communities come first.** Your customers search for Katy, Kingwood or The Woodlands by name, so "all of Houston" is the wrong place to start.
4. **Ask how the ads will be aimed.** A Houston PPC agency should say whether your ads reach people in Harris, Fort Bend and Montgomery counties, or anyone who has looked the area up.
5. **Read past the rating.** Look for reviewers who say what the agency did for them and whether it worked. Kihan Marketing is rated 5.0 on Google.

## Your Houston questions, answered

### Do you have an office in Houston?

No. We work remotely, inside accounts you own: your website, Google Ads, Business Profile and Search Console. You can see every change we make.

### Do you work in Katy, Sugar Land, The Woodlands and Pearland too?

Yes. Each gets a page about the work you do there, a place on your service area list and its own ad targeting. Katy by itself spans Harris, Fort Bend and Waller counties, so we target the city by name rather than one county.

### Can you make a Houston website ADA compliant?

We can test and fix it. We check the site against WCAG 2.2 at level AA and fix what fails, such as color contrast, image descriptions, keyboard access, form labels and captions. Then we test again with a keyboard and a screen reader. We do not use overlay widgets. It is technical work, not legal advice, and no one can promise a site will never be sued.

### When should a Houston roofer get storm pages ready?

By early spring. Hurricane season starts on June 1, but the May 16, 2024 derecho hit about two weeks before that. Pages need time to be indexed before the searches arrive.

### What are AEO and GEO, and does a Houston business need them?

Answer engine optimization and generative engine optimization are the work of getting a business named in AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity. For a Houston business, that starts with pages that say plainly whether you cover Katy, Pearland or Baytown, plus a Business Profile kept current. We cannot make an assistant name you, and we never promise that it will.

### What platforms do you build websites on?

WordPress and Next.js, and custom code where a site needs it. We pick by how much the site needs to grow and who on your team will edit it.
