# Los Angeles Web Design, Website Development and SEO

Plus AI search, Google Ads, local SEO and social media

Kihan Marketing is a digital marketing agency. For businesses in Los Angeles and Orange counties we offer SEO, website design and development, AI search, Google and Meta Ads, local search and social media. Property managers, med spas and healthcare practices are our specialties.

From Long Beach to Pasadena and on into Orange County, we help your business show up in search, get named by AI assistants and turn visits into bookings. We work remotely, in accounts registered to you.

## SEO services for Los Angeles businesses

Most [SEO](https://kihanmarketing.com/services/seo/) work for a Los Angeles business comes down to pages: one for each service you offer and one for each place you serve.

Inside the city, those places have names of their own, such as Hollywood, Venice, San Pedro or Van Nuys. The city’s planning department divides Los Angeles into 34 community plan areas. We handle the technical SEO, schema markup, content and link building behind a page for each one you serve.

- Technical SEO and site audits
- Schema markup
- Content that answers real questions
- Link building
- Pages for each community you serve
- Search Console set up in your name

## Website design and development in Los Angeles

We design and build [websites](https://kihanmarketing.com/services/web-development/) on WordPress or Next.js, and in custom code when a site needs it. Redesigns, speed work and maintenance are part of the job too.

California's Unruh Civil Rights Act counts any violation of the federal ADA as a violation of state law as well. The Ninth Circuit heard the Domino's case in Pasadena in 2018. In 2019 it held that the ADA covered Domino's website and app, because they connected customers to its restaurants. Our [ADA compliance](https://kihanmarketing.com/services/web-development/#ada-compliance) work tests a site against WCAG 2.2 at level AA, fixes what fails and tests it again with a keyboard and a screen reader. It is technical work, not legal advice.

- New websites and redesigns
- WordPress development
- Next.js, React and custom code
- ADA compliance (WCAG 2.2 AA)
- Speed work and maintenance

## AI search, ads, local and social in Los Angeles

### AI search

We work to get your business named in Google's AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity. That work is called answer engine optimization (AEO) or generative engine optimization (GEO).

Google asks for nothing special here: pages it can index, and a Business Profile with current details. So we write short answers an assistant can quote to the questions Los Angeles customers ask. Do you serve Altadena or East Los Angeles? Is this unit under the city’s Rent Stabilization Ordinance? Do you cover Orange County too?

### Google and Meta Ads

We run pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns on [Google Ads](https://kihanmarketing.com/services/paid-ads/), and paid social on Facebook and Instagram. We can build TikTok and LinkedIn campaigns when they fit.

Census splits the Los Angeles metro into two divisions, one for each county. We usually do the same, giving Los Angeles County and Orange County their own campaigns, ads and landing pages. Google’s default location setting also shows ads to people who have only shown interest in a place. For a local service we switch it to people who are in the area or regularly there, so a Torrance clinic is not paying for clicks from another state.

### Local SEO

We handle [local SEO](https://kihanmarketing.com/services/local-seo/) and the Google Business Profile itself: categories, services, hours, photos and a weekly review process.

Several names that sound like parts of Los Angeles are cities of their own: West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Culver City and Santa Monica. Others, such as Altadena and Hacienda Heights, belong to no city at all. A service-area business can list up to 20 service areas on its profile, so we list the places your customers actually name, not one line that says Los Angeles.

### Social media

We manage [social media](https://kihanmarketing.com/services/social-media/) and plan it around the Los Angeles calendar. In 2027 that means the Rose Parade in Pasadena on January 1, the Los Angeles Marathon on March 7 and the LA County Fair in Pomona from May 6 to 31. The LA28 Olympic Games run from July 14 to July 30, 2028.

Our [brand design](https://kihanmarketing.com/services/brand-design/) work covers the logo, identity, guidelines and post templates, so a business looks the same on its site, its profile and every post.

## How Los Angeles splits local search

Local search around Los Angeles splits by county, by city and by unincorporated community, because the City of Los Angeles is only part of the picture. The metro is two counties, Los Angeles and Orange. Inside Los Angeles County alone there are 88 cities and about 140 unincorporated areas.

1. **Two counties, two markets.** Long Beach, Glendale and Pasadena are in Los Angeles County. Anaheim, Santa Ana and Irvine are in Orange County. Google’s local results weigh distance to the searcher. A clinic in Pasadena should not count on showing up for a patient in Irvine, in the next county.
2. **The city is only part of the county.** The City of Los Angeles has about 3.87 million people, roughly 40 percent of the county’s 9.69 million. Everyone else lives in another city, such as Santa Clarita, Burbank or Torrance, or in no city at all.
3. **East Los Angeles has no city hall.** About 1 million county residents live in unincorporated areas. East Los Angeles has about 111,600 people, more than all but nine of the county’s cities, and no city government. The county notes that residents of these areas may not know which jurisdiction they belong to, because their mailing address lists a neighboring city. So a page for East Los Angeles should say East Los Angeles, not Los Angeles.

### Greater Los Angeles in numbers

- **12.8M** people in Los Angeles and Orange counties, the whole metro, in 2025
- **64%** of occupied homes in the City of Los Angeles are rented, against 54 percent countywide
- **624,000** rental units under the City of Los Angeles Rent Stabilization Ordinance, by the city’s count
- **73.7M** passengers through LAX in 2025, 23.6 million of them international

## Med spa, roofing, rental and real estate marketing in Los Angeles

California writes its own rules for each of these trades, from whose name goes on an ad for Botox to who may offer roof repairs after the 2025 fires.

### Med spa and healthcare SEO

In Los Angeles, the SEO, Google Ads and booking pages we make for med spas carry the supervising physician’s name, which California section 2272 requires.

The Medical Board of California treats laser treatments, Botox and filler injections as the practice of medicine. It says the supervising physician’s name, or a registered fictitious name, must be in the ad even when a nurse performs the treatment. Section 2272 makes advertising medicine without that name unprofessional conduct.

Section 651 covers photos. A before-and-after pair must name the procedures performed, the two views must be comparable, and the ad must say the same results may not occur for all patients. A photo of a model has to say it is a model.

People search for a med spa in Pasadena, not only in Los Angeles, so each treatment page names the cities the practice actually serves.

- California rules: B&P Code 651 and 2272
- Also: Medical Board of California guidance
- Services: Med spa SEO, Google Ads, booking pages

### Roofing

For Los Angeles roofers we build rebuild, inspection and repair pages that show the C-39 license number and go live in early fall, before the first storms. Every roofing ad in California, the website included, needs the contractor’s license number, and the license must be in the C-39 roofing class.

The Palisades and Eaton fires of January 2025 destroyed more than 16,000 structures, and the governor proclaimed a state of emergency on January 7. Under section 7028.16, unlicensed repair of damage from a disaster with a proclaimed emergency is a crime of its own. Rebuild pages put the license number where people look first.

Santa Ana winds are most common from September through May, and most of Downtown’s rain falls from December through March. Inspection and repair pages go up in early fall, before the first storms.

- California rules: B&P Code 7027.1, 7028.16 and 7030.5
- License: CSLB C-39, Roofing
- Season: Santa Ana winds, September to May

### Property management

Owner and renter pages on the property manager websites we build in Los Angeles cover the state rent cap, move-in photos and the City’s rent stabilization rules. In California, renting out property, finding tenants or collecting rent for someone else for pay is real estate broker work. A third-party property manager works under a broker license from the Department of Real Estate.

State law caps most rent increases at 5 percent plus inflation, or 10 percent, whichever is lower, over 12 months, with some exemptions. For tenancies starting on or after July 1, 2025, the landlord must also photograph the unit at move-in. Owner and renter pages should say so.

Inside the City of Los Angeles, older buildings, generally those first built on or before October 1, 1978, fall under the Rent Stabilization Ordinance. Those units are registered with the Los Angeles Housing Department every year. Since February 2, 2026, landlords can no longer add a utilities percentage to the yearly increase.

- California rule: B&P Code 10131(b)
- Also: Civil Code 1947.12 and 1950.5
- Our build: Property manager’s website

### Real estate

Every listing, guide and community page we build for Los Angeles agents carries their license details, and altered photos are labeled as California now requires. Every California agent’s name, license number and responsible broker belong on first-contact marketing, and the law names ads on television, in print and in electronic media.

Since January 1, 2026, a digitally altered image in an ad for a home for sale must be labeled as altered, with a link to the original. That covers virtual staging and AI edits that add, remove or change things like furniture, paint or the view. Lighting, cropping and color correction are exempt.

Social posts and ads bring buyers to those pages. In unincorporated areas such as East Los Angeles, a mailing address can list a neighboring city, so listing pages name the community itself.

- California rules: B&P Code 10140.6 and 10140.8
- Our client: Real estate agency
- Result: Clicks 1,545 to 2,478, July to September 2026 against 2025

## How to choose the best digital marketing agency in Los Angeles

Whoever you hire for SEO, web design or ads, us included, these five questions test whether they can tell the City of Los Angeles from Los Angeles County.

1. **Ask who owns the accounts.** Your ad account, Business Profile, analytics and domain should all be registered to you.
2. **Ask a Los Angeles question.** A property management agency should know which units fall under the city’s Rent Stabilization Ordinance, and a roofing agency what section 7028.16 means for a fire rebuild.
3. **Ask where they would start.** They should name the first places they would target, such as Van Nuys, Glendale or Irvine, not "all of LA".
4. **Ask how the ads are targeted.** They should say whether Orange County gets a campaign of its own, and whether a click from another state can spend your budget.
5. **Read what the reviews say.** A review that names the job, the town and what changed is worth more than a row of stars.

## Your Los Angeles questions, answered

### Do you have an office in Los Angeles?

No. We work remotely, inside accounts you own: your Google Ads, your Business Profile, your Search Console and your website. You can see every change we make.

### Do you work in Orange County and the rest of LA County too?

Yes. Orange County usually gets its own campaign and its own pages. Inside LA County, cities such as Long Beach, Pasadena and Burbank each get a page of their own, because people search by the city’s name.

### My customers live in an unincorporated area. Does that matter for search?

It can. Places such as East Los Angeles, Altadena and Hacienda Heights have no city government, but people still search by their names. We add each one to your service areas and write a page about it.

### Can you make a Los Angeles website ADA compliant?

We can test it and fix it, whether we built the site or not. We check the site against WCAG 2.2 at level AA and fix what fails, such as color contrast, image descriptions, keyboard access, form labels and captions. Then we test it again with a keyboard and a screen reader. We do not use overlay widgets. It is technical work, not legal advice, and no one can promise a site will never be sued.

### Is my rental covered by the Rent Stabilization Ordinance?

The ordinance covers the City of Los Angeles only. Inside the city, a rental generally is covered if the building was first built on or before October 1, 1978, though there are exemptions. Your owner and renter pages should say which rules apply. This is not legal advice.

### Can a roofer’s ads say "licensed, bonded and insured"?

Not in California. The Contractors State License Board says the law bars contractors from advertising that they are bonded. Under B&P Code 7027.4, an ad that says "insured" must also name the type of insurance, such as general liability or workers’ compensation. Every ad, the website included, must carry the license number, and the license must be in the classification advertised: C-39 for roofing.

### What are AEO and GEO?

Answer engine optimization and generative engine optimization. Both mean getting your business named in Google’s AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity, and both rest on pages Google can index that answer real questions, plus a current Business Profile.
