# Write for Us

Guest posts and sponsored articles on property and local marketing

Kihan Marketing accepts guest posts from people who do the work: property managers, leasing teams, real estate agents, roofers, med spa operators, and the marketers, developers and software teams who serve them. If you want to write for us, there are two ways in, free and paid. A contributed article is free and runs on its merits. A sponsored post or sponsored review is paid, carries a visible Sponsored label, and every link in it that you pay for is marked rel="sponsored".

This page covers both in full: who reads the blog, which topics we take, the editorial guidelines, how links work, what a sponsored post costs, and what happens after you pitch. The pitch form is at the foot of the page.

## Can I write a guest post for Kihan Marketing?

Yes. Kihan Marketing accepts guest posts on property management, apartments and multifamily, real estate, roofing and med spas, and on local SEO, AI search, websites and Google Ads. Pitch three topic ideas with the form at the foot of this page. An editor reads every pitch and replies to each one, yes or no, by email.

We are a marketing agency for local and small businesses, and the blog is where we write about the work. A guest post sits beside our own articles, under the same editing standard, so it has to be something we would be glad to have written ourselves. That bar is the same whether the article is contributed or sponsored. Paying changes the label and the links. It never changes whether a weak article runs.

## Who reads the Kihan Marketing blog?

The blog is read by people who run local businesses and by the teams that market them. Many arrive from a search for a specific problem, such as filling a lease-up, ranking in the map pack or fixing a website that does not convert, so they read to the end of articles that solve it. Write for that reader, not for a search engine.

- **Property managers and leasing teams.** Owners, marketing leads and leasing staff at management companies, looking for owner leads, faster leasing and websites that list every property.
- **Apartment and multifamily operators.** People responsible for lease-ups, occupancy, renewals and what the portfolio spends on listing sites.
- **Real estate agents and brokerages.** Agents and team leads working on listing presentations, neighborhood content, lead follow-up and their own websites.
- **Roofing contractors.** Owners and office managers who want more inspection requests and fewer leads shared with four competitors.
- **Med spa owners and practice managers.** People building a patient pipeline within the advertising rules that apply to aesthetic treatments.
- **Local business owners.** Anyone comparing SEO, Google Ads and website options and trying to tell good advice from a sales pitch.

## Contributed article, sponsored post or sponsored review?

There are three ways to appear on the blog. A contributed article is free and is published on its merits, with your byline. A sponsored post is an article you supply, published with a Sponsored label for a fee. A sponsored review is an article we write about your SaaS product or service, also labeled Sponsored. The table compares them.

| Compared on | Contributed article | Sponsored post | Sponsored review |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | Free | $199 | $399 |
| Who writes it | You | You | We do |
| Label on the article | None. You are credited as the author | Sponsored, with a disclosure line at the top | Sponsored, with a disclosure line at the top |
| Links to your site | One, where our editor agrees it helps the reader | Up to two, marked rel="sponsored" | Up to two, marked rel="sponsored" |
| Length | 1,200 to 2,500 words | 1,200 to 2,500 words | As long as the product needs |
| Editing | Yes, and you approve the edited draft | Yes, and you approve the edited draft | You check the draft for factual errors |
| Topics | Our niches only | Our niches only | Products and services our readers use |

## What topics do you accept for guest posts?

We accept guest posts in the niches we work in and nowhere else. That covers property management and multifamily marketing, real estate marketing, roofing, med spas, and the channels that serve all of them: local SEO, AI search, websites and Google Ads. Every article has to answer one question a reader in those fields actually asks.

- **Property management marketing.** Owner acquisition, leasing speed, websites for management companies, software workflows in AppFolio, Buildium or Yardi, and how to market a portfolio. Start from our [property management marketing](https://kihanmarketing.com/property-management-marketing/) hub to see what we already cover.
- **Apartments and multifamily.** Lease-ups, renewals and resident retention, listing site spend, apartment SEO and community websites. Our [multifamily marketing](https://kihanmarketing.com/multifamily-marketing/) page sets out the ground.
- **Real estate.** Agent and brokerage marketing, IDX websites, neighborhood content, listing presentations and lead follow-up. See [real estate marketing](https://kihanmarketing.com/real-estate-marketing/).
- **Roofing.** Roofing SEO, storm season demand, Local Services Ads, reviews and turning estimates into signed jobs. See [roofing marketing](https://kihanmarketing.com/roofing-marketing/).
- **Med spas.** Patient acquisition, med spa SEO, booking flows and advertising aesthetic treatments within the platforms' rules. See [med spa marketing](https://kihanmarketing.com/med-spa-marketing/).
- **Local SEO.** Google Business Profile, the [local pack](https://kihanmarketing.com/glossary/local-pack/), citations, reviews and service area pages. See [local SEO](https://kihanmarketing.com/services/local-seo/).
- **AI search.** Google AI Overviews, visibility in ChatGPT and Perplexity, and [answer engine optimization](https://kihanmarketing.com/services/answer-engine-optimization/).
- **Websites.** Speed, conversion, accessibility, schema markup and platform choices for local businesses. See [web development](https://kihanmarketing.com/services/web-development/).
- **Google Ads.** Search campaigns, Local Services Ads, tracking and lead quality for local businesses. See [paid ads](https://kihanmarketing.com/services/paid-ads/).

### Topics we turn down

We decline these whatever the offer and however well they are written.

- Casino, betting or gambling
- CBD, cannabis or vaping
- Crypto, forex or trading
- Adult content or dating
- Payday loans or debt relief
- Essay writing or homework help
- Anything outside the niches above

## What makes a guest post we will publish?

We publish a guest post when it teaches our readers something they cannot get from the first page of search results. That means first-hand experience, a source for every figure, one clear question answered early, and writing that a busy owner can follow. The guidelines below are what our editor checks, in roughly the order they decide yes or no.

### Original and first-hand

The article must be unpublished: not on your own site, LinkedIn, Medium or anywhere else, before or after it runs here. It should show something only someone who did the work would know. That can be numbers from your own campaigns, anonymized if they belong to a client, a process you run, screenshots from a real account, or a mistake you made and what it cost. Generic advice that could have been written by anyone is declined.

### One question, answered early

Each article answers one question a reader would type into Google or ask an AI assistant. Answer it in the first paragraph in plain words, then spend the rest of the article on the detail, the exceptions and the steps. Headings should read like the questions people ask, so a reader can scan to the part they need.

### Length and structure

Contributed articles and sponsored posts run from 1,200 to 2,500 words. Use short paragraphs, a heading every few hundred words, numbered steps for anything done in order, and a table wherever you compare options. Length is not the goal. An article that says everything in 1,300 words is better than one padded to 2,500.

### A source for every figure

Every statistic links to its original source: the study, the survey, the platform's own documentation or the government data, not a blog that quoted it. A figure more than two years old needs a reason to be there. Do not invent numbers, round them up or present an estimate as a measurement. We check sources before we publish, and a draft with figures we cannot trace goes back to you.

### AI-assisted drafts

You may use AI tools to draft or edit, as long as a person who knows the subject has checked every fact, figure, quote and link, and the article contains experience no tool could supply. A draft that reads like an unedited AI answer is declined. Tell us if AI wrote a large part of it; that alone is not a reason to say no.

### Style

Write in US English, in plain words, to one reader. No hype, no clichés and no sales pitch for your own company in the body of a contributed article. We edit to our house style, which includes taking out em dashes, so do not worry about matching it exactly.

### Images

Send images you own or have the rights to use, at least 1,200 pixels wide, with a one-line description of each that we can use as alt text. Screenshots and charts from your own work are the most useful. A chart cites the data behind it. No watermarked or AI-generated images of people.

### Med spa and health topics

Articles about aesthetic treatments make no promises about results and give no medical advice. Any claim about what a treatment does cites a clinical or regulatory source. Write about marketing a practice, not about treating patients.

### Author bio

Send a bio of 40 to 60 words, written in the third person, with your name, your role, your company and the one link you want. A square headshot is optional. A contributed article is published under your name; we do not publish ghostwritten posts under a made-up author.

## How do links work in a guest post?

A contributed article gets one link to your site, where our editor agrees it helps the reader, plus links to the sources you cite. A sponsored post or sponsored review gets up to two links to your site, and every one is marked rel="sponsored". We never sell a followed link, and the rules below apply to every article on the blog.

- **Every paid link is marked sponsored.** Google's [spam policies](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/essentials/spam-policies#link-spam) list buying or selling links that pass ranking credit as link spam, and either site can lose rankings for it. So a link you pay for always carries rel="sponsored", with no exceptions.
- **No links added to existing articles.** We do not sell link insertions into posts that are already published. A paid link only arrives with a new article that is labeled Sponsored.
- **Natural anchor text.** A link reads as part of the sentence. Keyword anchors such as "best roofing company in Dallas" are rewritten by our editor.
- **Relevant destinations only.** Each link points to a page that helps with the article's subject. A link to your homepage belongs in the bio.
- **Links are kept accurate.** If a page a link points to breaks, changes subject or redirects somewhere else, we update or remove the link.

## What does a sponsored post cost?

A sponsored post on the Kihan Marketing blog costs $199. A sponsored review of a SaaS product or service costs $200 more, $399 in all. Both prices are per article, in US dollars, and cover editing, the Sponsored label, your byline or credit, and up to two rel="sponsored" links to your site. These are prices for publishing on our blog, not for our marketing services.

| Package | Price | What is included |
|---|---|---|
| Sponsored post | $199 | You supply a 1,200 to 2,500 word article on one of our topics. We edit it and publish it on the blog with a Sponsored label, your byline and bio, and up to two links to your site marked rel="sponsored". |
| Sponsored review | $399, which is $199 plus $200 for the review | We use your SaaS product or service and write the review ourselves: what it does, who it suits, where it falls short and what the alternatives are. Published with a Sponsored label and up to two links to your site marked rel="sponsored". |

### What a sponsored post does not include

- A followed link
- A link added to an article already on the site
- A promised ranking, traffic figure or mention in AI answers
- A topic outside our niches
- Approval of a review's verdict

### How a sponsored review works

You give us access to the product, through a trial account, a demo or a walkthrough of the service, and we use it the way one of our readers would. We write the review and send you the draft to check for factual errors, such as a wrong feature or an outdated screenshot. You can correct facts. The opinion stays ours, because a review readers cannot trust is worth nothing to you either. If the product does not fit our readers, we tell you before anything is paid.

### Who sponsored posts are for

Sponsored posts suit software companies, service providers and agencies whose customers are the people who read this blog: property management software, leasing tools, real estate technology, roofing and contractor software, med spa booking and practice tools, and local marketing services. If your product does not serve those readers, a sponsored post will not reach the people you want, and we will tell you so.

## How do I submit a guest post?

Pitch first, write second. Send three topic ideas with the form at the foot of this page and say whether you want a contributed article, a sponsored post or a sponsored review. We reply to every pitch. Do not send a finished article without a pitch; it will usually need a different angle, and a pitch saves you rewriting it.

1. **Pitch three topics.** One line for each idea, the question it answers and who it is for. Link two or three things you have already written, on any site.
2. **We pick one, or none.** If an idea overlaps an article we already have, we name the article and suggest an angle that adds to it instead.
3. **Write the draft in a Google Doc.** Share it with info@kihanmarketing.com with comment access, and put the images, sources and bio in the same doc.
4. **We edit, and you approve.** Expect questions and suggested changes. You see the edited version before anything goes live.
5. **Sponsored articles are paid once the draft is approved.** We confirm the price in writing first, and the article is published after payment.
6. **We publish and send you the link.** Share it wherever you like. Tell us if a fact in it changes later and we will update it.

## Write for us: common questions

The questions guest writers and sponsors tend to ask, answered in full. If yours is not here, ask it in the pitch form or email info@kihanmarketing.com.

### Do you accept guest posts from SEO agencies and freelance writers?

Yes, on the same terms as everyone else: a topic in our niches, a writer with real experience of it, and an article that helps our readers. If you are writing on behalf of a client and the article exists to place a link to that client, it is a sponsored post, and it is labeled and priced as one.

### Do you pay contributors?

No. Contributed articles are unpaid. You get a byline, an author bio, one link to your site and an article you can point clients to.

### Can I write about my own product?

In a contributed article you can mention your product once, where it is genuinely relevant, the way you would mention any other tool. An article that is mainly about your product is a sponsored post, or a sponsored review if you want us to write it.

### Can I republish my article somewhere else?

No. Please do not publish it anywhere else, before or after it runs here. You can share a short excerpt with a link to the full article on our blog.

### How long until my article is published?

It depends on how much editing the draft needs and on the publishing calendar. We give you a publishing date once the edited draft is approved, and we email you the link on the day it goes live.

### Will a sponsored post help my rankings?

We cannot promise that, and nobody honest can. A sponsored link is marked rel="sponsored", which tells Google it was paid for. What a sponsored post does give you is an article in front of property, real estate and local business readers, published with the same structure and editing as our own articles.

### What happens if my pitch is turned down?

We tell you why in a sentence or two, usually because the topic is outside our niches or overlaps an article we already have. You are welcome to pitch again with different ideas.

### Can I update my article after it is published?

Yes, by email. We correct facts, replace broken links and update figures that have changed. We do not swap a link for a different one after publishing.
