Jenifer’s Law on elective IV therapy shapes the SEO, Google Ads and booking pages we build for San Antonio med spas. We build each one around the Texas rules below.
Jenifer’s Law took effect on September 1, 2025. It covers elective IV therapy, meaning therapy a patient seeks to ease temporary discomfort or improve temporary wellness. The law does not reach therapy given in a physician’s office, a licensed health facility, a licensed mental hospital or a state hospital. A physician may delegate ordering it to a physician assistant or an advanced practice registered nurse. Giving it may be delegated to either of them or to a registered nurse, each under adequate physician supervision. An IV page should say who orders the drip and who gives it.
The Texas Medical Board’s advertising rule for physicians lists several kinds of misleading ads. Two of them matter to a med spa. One is showing models or actors without saying they are not actual patients. The other is a paid presentation that does not say it was paid for. A med spa’s physician answers to that rule, so galleries label models as models and sponsored posts say they are sponsored.
UT Health San Antonio, University Health, Methodist hospitals and the VA’s South Texas Veterans Health Care System are among the institutions in the South Texas Medical Center. A small clinic cannot match their size, so its pages lean on detail: one treatment per page, who gives it and how to book.
